I grew up in San Francisco, and studied Peace and Conflict Studies and Library and Information Studies at UC Berkeley. Inspired by social justice movements, for two decades I worked as a nonprofit sector consultant primarily in the US and southern Africa.
In 2001 I fell in love with Buddhist practice and meditation. I worked for nearly a decade as a Retreat Manager at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, trained to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Qigong, and graduated from Spirit Rock’s two year Dedicated Practitioner’s Program. I also trained as a coach with Coaches Training Institute.
Since seeing An Inconvenient Truth in 2006, I’ve dedicated most of my volunteer and activist energies to the climate crisis. In 2016 I self-published the book One Small Difference: Step into Action for a Better World.
I live in Woodacre, California, not far from San Francisco. Please email me if you want to be in touch.
